Defensive Handgun Skills: Level 2 is our advanced skill building course for students who have completed Level 1 and want to train the way real defensive encounters unfold: moving, thinking, and making decisions under pressure.
This four hour course combines classroom instruction in Vista with advanced live fire work at the range in Oceanside.

What This Course Is Not
This is a skills development course, not a BSIS certification or permit course. It does not issue any license or permit.
Pricing and Deposits
Course price is $195, or $175 for returning Focal Point Academy students. A $50 deposit reserves your seat and the balance is due in cash at check in. There is a $23 range fee paid directly to the range.

Defensive Handgun Skills: Level 1, or instructor approval based on equivalent training.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to reschedule, please contact us at least 48 hours before your session. Students who cancel with notice receive full credit toward a future date, usable within 60 days. Credits are non-transferable.

Prefer a Private Session? This course is also available as a private one-on-one or small-group session for students who want more flexibility, a quieter learning environment, or more personalized instruction. Private scheduling is subject to instructor and range availability.

Can I skip Level 1 and go straight to Level 2?
Students with equivalent documented training can request instructor approval. Contact us with a summary of your experience and we will let you know if Level 2 is the right fit.
How demanding are the drills?
Drills are progressive. Your instructor builds up from controlled movement to full scenario based decision making, and every student is coached at their own pace with safety as the first priority.
Does this course renew or issue any permit?
No. This is a skills development course only. It does not issue or renew any BSIS or CCW permit.
