Terms and Conditions – Focal Point Academy

Welcome to Focal Point Academy. By enrolling in any course, accessing our website, or participating in training, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility Requirements

All students must meet applicable legal requirements prior to attending any course.

Students enrolling in firearms-related training must be legally eligible to possess and handle firearms under California law.
Certain courses (such as BSIS Exposed Firearm) require prior completion of state-mandated prerequisites, including assessments administered through Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) and PSI Exams.
Valid government-issued identification is required at the time of training.

Focal Point Academy reserves the right to deny participation to any individual who does not meet eligibility requirements.

2. Course Registration & Payment

Full payment is required to secure a seat in any course unless otherwise stated.
Course availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Prices, schedules, and course offerings are subject to change without notice.

3. Refund & Rescheduling Policy

All sales are subject to our Refund Policy (see separate page).
Students may request rescheduling with reasonable notice, subject to availability.
No-shows may forfeit their course fee.

4. Safety & Conduct Requirements

Safety is our highest priority.
All students must:

Follow all instructor directions at all times
Adhere to all firearm safety rules
Maintain professional and respectful behavior

Focal Point Academy reserves the right to remove any student from training without refund if they:

Violate safety protocols
Engage in disruptive or unsafe behavior
Appear under the influence of drugs or alcohol

5. Firearms & Equipment

Students may be required to provide their own firearms and ammunition unless otherwise specified.
All firearms must be transported and handled in compliance with California law.
No live firearms are permitted in designated classroom areas unless explicitly authorized.

6. Certification & Completion

Course completion and certification are contingent upon:

Full attendance
Successful completion of required coursework
Passing any written and/or practical examinations

Focal Point Academy does not guarantee:

Employment
License issuance
CCW approval

Final licensing decisions are made by the appropriate issuing authority.

7. Liability Waiver

By participating in training, students acknowledge that firearms and defensive training involve inherent risks. Students agree to:

Assume full responsibility for their participation
Release Focal Point Academy, its instructors, and affiliates from liability for injuries, damages, or losses arising from participation, except where prohibited by law

A separate liability waiver may be required prior to participation.

8. Media Release

Focal Point Academy may capture photos or videos during training for promotional purposes.
By attending, you consent to the use of your image unless you submit a written request to opt out.

9. Website Use

All website content is provided for informational purposes only. Users agree not to:

Misuse the website
Attempt unauthorized access
Copy or reproduce content without permission

10. Changes to Terms

Focal Point Academy reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
